Emma’s Hotel Bed & Breakfast

An up-and-coming vacation region has received a modern, forward-looking and cozy accommodation with Emma's Hotel B&B. Since opening in 2019, countless couples and families have enjoyed unique vacations with us. Many come back and are now part of the growing Emma's community.

A lot has already happened in the short time of its existence: A great sensation was caused by the television program «SRF Bi de Lüt» with the Emma's Hotel B&B 2020 and of course the innovative Self-Check-In-Terminal – the machine that takes care of the uncomplicated check-in - has been mentioned several times in the media as an example of the hotel business of the future.

Barbara Caluori and her team are hosts with heart and soul and look forward to making their guests' stay more enjoyable every day.

In big footsteps: story in 3 acts

1896 – Kurhaus and Parkhotel St. Josef

The former luxury hotel offered its guests a tennis court and an avenue of lime trees, a smoking salon and a ladies' room, a croquet and bowling alley - and even a spa orchestra in the summer, in addition to the good mountain air of Lungern.

1945 – Recreation and Education Home of the Swiss Catholic Workers

The Haus St. Josef cooperative took over the hotel as a recreational and educational home, renovated it and added a house chapel and the Marienburg and Josefsburg annexes. The home was closed in 2015.

2019 – Emma’s Hotel B&B

As part of the new construction project on the historic plot, Emma's Hotel B&B was built in the former "Marienburg" dependency building, in addition to residential buildings. Preserved are some artifacts as contemporary witnesses: vintage elevator, the chandelier in the entrance, some large mirrors, a huge bag scale, various accessories, dishes and some furniture.
